About Sarah
Sarah has worked in public mental health services and private practice as well as working as a school psychologist. Sarah has experience providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a range of mental health and developmental disorders commonly occurring in childhood and adolescence. Sarah has interests in working with families to manage anxiety and eating-related difficulties, in addition to a broader range of client presentations; such as mood disorders, deliberate self-injury, adjustment and trauma-related disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Sarah has a warm and empathic approach and practices clinical psychology from a humanistic orientation. Sarah provides client-centred, family based interventions, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and trauma-informed care.
Sarah will provide a thorough risk assessment and assist in the development of appropriate safety planning for young people and families who are navigating issues related to self-harm or suicidality. This may include onward referral to a crisis service for families who require assertive community follow up due to elevated risk or significant safety concerns.
Sarah is available in the practice three days each week and strives to balance her passion and enthusiasm for working with families, enjoying time with her husband and three children and training in martial arts as much as she can.
Sarah maintains a membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
